Resurrection of the soul with Japji: Mool Mantra

Resurrection of the Soul is an attempt to speak and write about soul, about sacredness and divine connection in everyday life. This is a search for primal truths that always stay the same. A search for Truth we can rely on and be inspired by.

Japji Sahib is a wonderful composition to base this search on.

The first section of Japji Sahib is Mool Mantra. Mool means root or base.

Japji Sahib is a poem. It rhymes and in this way it creates a special sound current that speaks to your soul. In this way a sound current is a key that allows us to have higher understanding. Higher knowledge does not come from the brain. Brain only interprets “the feeling” or intuitive knowing you have already within you.

  2. We participate in this ONG. God is not outside of it.
  3. In its scope ONG is absolutely neutral (doesn’t have anger or fear or vengeance)
  4. Life and death exist within ONG
  5. ONG is infinite, self creating, initiating and projecting (illumined it doesn’t need anything else).
  6. To be be able to understand the immensity of it, is a true blessing of life
  7. It always was and always will be.

Translations by Ek Ong Kaar Kaur Khalsa:

One Spirit Beyond
Moves within the Creation— Coordinating
Consolidating
Continually
Creating,

And this Spirit Within me
Is my True Identity.

It Does All And Causes All To be Done.

It Protects me Through all incidents Of Time and Space.

It fears nothing And knows nothing Of vengeance
Or anger.

Deathless
It comes into Form.

In Itself, It has Never been born.

Flowing through the cycles Of Birth and Death,
It moves
By Its Own

Purity and Projection.

This understanding Shall come to you As a sweet blessing, As a gift.

In every moment Continue
In Its Continual Remembrance.

From the start
This Truth was True.

All through Time and Space Is True.

Even now,
This Truth is True.

Nanak says,
Ever shall be True.
