“Sometimes a day is a stepmother, sometimes a mother.” Hesiod
2018 adds up to number 11 which is the master number. It is a number of mastery. That’s why we repeat mantras 11 times and 11 minutes. It takes at least 11 repetitions for your consciousness to shift, for your body to listen.
They also run a lot of experiments bursting cancerous cells with sound and one important element was to have the sound resonate in 2 different frequencies – 1 low and 1 high AND the high one must be 11 times higher than the low one. Musicians call it the 11th harmonic.
That’s just a little side not on the power of number 11 so that we are aware of how special this year is.
To harness the power of this year and use its energy for your dreams and your soul expression, you might consider following the moon calendar and learn about special, lucky and proficient days within the moon cycle.
Within one moon cycle there are days that are great for planning, others are great for celebration or for hard work or for relaxation. There are days that are great for detox too. If you plan your work around these powerful days, everything will flow easy for you and you’ll always feel on top of your life instead of running behind.
At the beginning of the year most people set their intentions of what they would like to see happen in the year. This is very old tradition and it is based on idea of Earth beginning its new cycle around the sun starting at winter solstice.
The new moon is equivalent to winter solstice in its energy. It is called the dark moon and it is a point from which the moon begins its new journey around the earth.
The new moon is also great time to set intentions, to commit to certain values you like to keep, to start new project, new meditation practice, to quit something.
The full moon is equivalent to summer solstice and the days before and after the full moon are great for doing the work, sticking to your values, putting yourself out there,… It is the time of the month when you have a lot of energy.
Last few days before the moon ends (warning moon) are great for finishing up projects, tying loose ends, but also for relaxation, contemplation and evaluation of your strategy. And when the new moon comes around, you can start again 🙂
Within the month there are also special or holy days:
According to Yogi Bhajan 4th day of the moon and 11th day of the moon are very good because your body is in beautiful glandular balance that creates very healing environment. These days are great for detox, for celebration, for meditation and connection with the spirit.
According to Hesiod, the first, 4th and 7th days are all holy and very good for men to do anything. He mentions that 8th and 9th and 11th and 12th day are great for accomplishing work and many others things men and women might set themselves up doing.
The 5th days after the new moon and after the full moon should be avoided as well – the 13th.
You can take this information as a silly superstition or you can test it out. After all, we live in Aquarian age and we are sensitive human beings with power to discern the truth from nonsense. Observe the moon, be sensitive to its subtle energy and test out the effect of different days of the moon on yourself and only then pass a judgment.
The roman calendar that we follow around the world is good and gives us the stability but when it comes to energy and natural rhythms – this calendar is too stiff and many times January 1st falls towards the end of the moon and no one has energy to keep up with their resolution or even make resolutions.
Each day is different, one day you feel low and unlucky and few days later you might feel on top of the world.
“Sometimes a day is a stepmother, sometimes a mother.” Hesiod says.
I am so happy that you got to the end of this long post and I hope that you’ll start using the moon calendar for your benefit.
I personally LOVE this calendar from www.themoonismycalendar.com. It’s such a wonderful way to map out the year, to know the 4th day, the 11th day and so on.
