“Like a candle emits light, a human emits prosperity.” Yogi Bhajan
Let’s define it by taking money out of equation because money is just a transitory stage of prosperity. What you do with money determines whether something is prosperous or not.
How does prosperity look?
I live in NYC which is a great place to see some of the most prosperous neighborhood and also some of the poorest.
When I walk down prosperous neighborhood the houses could be the same, the street is the same, side walk is the same yet, the streets don’t have garbage on them, the store fronts are well kept, houses are freshly painted and have nice flowers in their windows. There is sense of harmony in the design and you can feel human touch that it takes to keep it going.
And then sometimes I drive from the airport through this most desolate area in Brooklyn and the building look like they are collapsing, garbage is freely blowing down the street and side walks have chicken bones on them. If feels like and abandoned place, yet I know people live here.
And you might say, well these people have money and others don’t so that is that.
But once again let’s take money out of equation.
In the prosperous neighborhood the money is buying street cleaners, window washers, store designers basically human power to keep things going. There is also a sense of entitlement to property and subsequently pride in what is yours that shows in care of these neighborhoods.
In poor neighborhoods this sense of entitlement to ownership has been taken away. The time to care for something has been occupied by working for minimum wages that all they do is give you enough to sustain yourself but otherwise drain you physically, psychologically and spiritually so you are not inspired to do anything extra when you get home after your 16 hour shift.
The society is build upside down, it is unjust. We all know that. A lot of wealth in the world today was created by exploitation of others (paying low wages or no wages), privatizing resources like oil and water, financial manipulation (interest rates for debt). I don’t believe that is prosperity, that is greed, competition for power and control mixed with good dose of fear and ego.
There were many revolutions that tried to change it and all of them failed. Money just switched places and people are still exploited.
PROSPERITY IS WITHIN EVERY SINGLE PERSON. CLAIM IT AND DON’T GIVE IT UP CHEAPLY
It is us humans that create prosperity, it is not big corporations, technology or government. It is every single person that puts their work forward. The person that cleans the streets, that builds the roads, person that bakes that bread. The architect that conceives of this beautiful building and every single person that works on accomplishing that vision.
Every single person matters, is insignificant and deserves prosperity.
Turn this perception right side up and:
1. Give yourself care and attention you deserve. Start with your clothes. Then go through your surrounding and create prosperity there. It doesn’t not have to cost you lot of money.
2. Give yourself the boost of radiant energy through healthy fresh foods, uplifting music and a jolt of inspiration with a meditation.
This one is very good.
3. Appreciate harmony and beauty. It is not something to get from the outside instead it comes from within you. Those that realized that are the happiest and luckiest people in the world
4. Follow these Three keys to Success from Yogi Bhajan.
- KNOW WHO YOU ARE
- ALLOW EVERYTHING TO COME TO YOU
- SHARE IT WITH OTHERS
Kundalini yoga connects you with your prosperity, with your beauty with the harmony that is inside of you. There are many other practices that work as well. However be careful if someone is trying to hook you by claiming you need to follow them to get it or to learn it. The answer is always within you within your open heart and mind and eagerness to learn.
