14th Pauri of Japji: helps you find your path in life. As I read and try to understand Japji, it’s becoming clearer by every pauri the importance of deep meditation and trusting oneself. 14th pauri continues to repeat the effect that deep trust and obeying of your own inner voice will have on your life. For years my spiritual practice consisted of repeating mantras, doing yoga and breathing techniques. I made these practices sacred to me. YET, they are only instructions. The true work takes place in those quiet moments when you listen and when you trust what you hear, when you understand that your inner voice is the most sacred voice of them all. But this is exactly what Japji Sahib is about. Japji is instruction on how to communicate with the divine. It is not end on its own. For example, for many years I was going around reciting Japji without meditating on it. Mind you, I always thought it hides clearest and most sacred wisdom, but I was reciting it like a chore. While my “chore” should have been deep meditation and trusting what I hear in the amrit vela. Mind you recitation of Japji still taught me a lot. It still elevated my consciousness and made me be more aware, but if I practiced trusting myself, I would probably made much greater progress. Go on and read the translation to see what you will have access to when you deeply listen and trust.
